CityArts Rock Camp 2010 Week 5 Concert

The Week 5 concert of the Summer 2010 edition of the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp took place on Friday, July 30th, 2010.  Five bands hit the stage.  Week 5 was a short 4 day week due to the Simcoe Day holiday on Monday.  Despite the tightened schedule, and the resulting pressure to get everything ready for Friday's performance, the bands were all great!

Manana Bandwich

Manana Bandwich was the energetic bunch who took the stage with their set of Vertigo by U2 and Today by the Smashing Pumpkins. The “Bandwich” kept the crowd moving and the show rockin’ and rollin’. Despite their name,

Amuse featuring Too Shy Guy

Amuse featuring Too Shy Guy was not hesitant to let their inner rockstars out. With not one but two Muse songs, “Plug in Baby” and “Hysteria”.

Metasys

With the only original of the night, Metasys gave an amazing performance. Along with their original instrumental, the group took the crowd back with the classic “All the Young Dudes” by Mott the Hoople.

FailBoat

FailBoat Don’t let the name fool you, this band in no way failed. Launching into “Fake It” by Seether, they instantly pleased the audience. Then, closing their set with the crowd favourite, “This Could Be Anywhere In The World” by Alexisonfire. A fantastic demonstration of what the volunteers can do.

The Joe McGrade Fanclub

The Joe McGrade Fanclub was the fabulous four-some took the crowd back to not one, not two but three eras with The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back”, - “Southern Man” by Neil Young, and “Welcome to the Machine” by Pink Floyd. What a fabulous end to the night.  Who is Joe McGrade you ask?  None other than one of our beloved CityArts Toronto Rock Camp band leaders and instructors who has been with us since 2008.
