About Lee's Palace:
Lee's Palace & The Dance Cave are located at 529 Bloor St. W. Toronto, one and a half blocks east of Bathurst. Exit the TTC at the BATHURST subway. The building dates back to the early 1900′s, and was once a bank. It consists of two floors, each about 5000 sq. ft. In 1985 Mr Lee re-opened it as an Alternative Music Club with Dancing on the 2nd floor and Live Performance Space on the Main. Handsome Ned opened Lee's on Sept 5th 1985, followed by Blue Rodeo.
The Cave has always been Toronto's most known Alternative Music Dance Club, focused on the tastes of nearby University students on Weekends, but also older fans of Goth, Mod, Punk, Indie mid-week. The Cave is not your atypical Entertainment Zone Dance Club, there's no bottle service, no yuppy dress-code, or mega trippy lights shows, it's a real bare bones throwback punk punk, ska, mod, britpop, indie feel dance club, where music and alternative lifestyle rules.
Lee's continues to showcase some of the best Local, Canadian, American, and International Live Music Touring Bands –
The home of the likes of 'One', 'Bourbon Tabernacle Choir', 'Forgotten Rebels', 'White Cowbell Oklahoma', 'Broken Social Scene', 'Tragically Hip', 'The Dougbboys', 'Lowest Of The Low', 'Weeping Tile'.
It has also hosted the likes of 'Nirvana', 'Foo Fighters', 'Bad Manners, 'The Mekons', 'Rank n File', 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers', 'Jim Carrol', 'Lucinda Williams', 'Los Lobos', 'Goo Goo Dolls', 'Smashing Pumpkins', 'Primus', 'Blur, 'Sloan', 'X', 'Wallflowers' Stiff Little Fingers', 'G.B.H', 'Joel Plaskett', 'Paul Westerberg', 'Buzzcocks', 'Cracker', 'Love & Rockets', and so-oo many more cool bands!
